What is a Liquor License and do you need one to cater alcohol?
The Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) requires a company that caters liquor to own a “Type 47/48” Liquor License as well as a “Type 58” Caterer's’ Permit. With the ever changing regulations around catering of liquor here in the state of California, hiring a professional, ABC- licensed and insured bartending service is safer for you! Proof is compliant on all ends!

What is Liquor Liability Insurance?
This means Proof carries a policy that covers losses resulting from liquor-related activities.

Can you serve outside the North State?
Yes. Our general standard service area is described best as being as north as Mt. Shasta and as south as Red Bluff. We are open to delivering outside this parameter.

Is there a deposit required for booking Proof?
Yes. But don’t worry, it will go towards your final balance. This is just so that we can count on the booking. The deposit will be due at the time we get the ink pen out for contract signing. It’s painless! We accept credit card, PayPal, or check.

Do you estimate the number of bartenders or can I request?
We recommend one bartender per 50 people. Having your guests wait for drinks is unacceptable! How many of us have been at an event and had to wait in line for too long? We all have here at Proof and it won’t happen!

What is the latest you can stay at our special event?
Because we care about your safety, the latest we will serve drinks is 12 am.

Can Proof serve anywhere? Is there a special license?
All of our events are covered under our general liability insurance policy, including liquor liability coverage.

Can I benefit from bar sales when booking an event?
ONLY if you are an authorized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, no person or entity shall receive compensation of any kind as a result of bar sales – Business and Professions Code Section 23300 (B&P 23300-23301).

Do I need to include a tip when booking my event or is it included?
Tips are customary in the bartending business so we offer our customers two options:
1. Allow a tip jar to be placed on the bar.
2. There will be no tip jar and the event host will pay a 20% gratuity fee, per bartender, based on the service charge.

What forms of payments are accepted?
We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash. Final payment is due 7 days prior to the start of the event.

Do you ID at events?
YES. If you look under 30, we will check your ID to ensure that you are of legal age to consume alcohol.

After my event, what happens to the leftover alcohol?
Proof Catering is liable for all the alcohol being served and stored, therefore after your event, we remove all remaining alcohol from the venue.
